Archdeacon Will 1689A #158 Santan will of Bahie Clague alias xxxx, died 1 February 1688/9:
Summary: husband xxxx Clague is not mentioned, dau Christian, dau Margaret, also Marriad Cowin, the Sotch Miller's wife, witnesses: John Martin & Daniel Christian.
?See: ArW 1673A #17 Santan will of Christian Fargher, dated 5 May 1673: sister Catharine Fargher, brother Thomas Fargher, also: Philip Clague (left 6d),
Christian Clague (left 6d), witnesses: Thomas Kinnish & Edmund Kneale, pledges: Sir Hugh Cosnahan & William Cowle.
NOTE: The old Typed Index lists this will after ArW 1689A #157 Maughold will of Elizabeth Quay, and indicated that this is a KK St Ann will. Clague is an uncommon
surname in Santan, but a William Clague died with will in 1616-1620, and Catharine Clague alias Kneale died with a will in 1669, and a John Clague married Christian
Cubbon 20 Sep 1719 Santan (she died with will 1724 Santan). A very few Clagues are found in Marown Parish, but several in Arbory Parish and other parishes. However,
Marriad Cowin is found only in Lonan Parish, John Martin in Andreas (mostly), & other north side parishes, and Daniel Christian also in the north side parishes.
NOTE, The scribe who wrote the Archdeacon Wills at this time used the 'modern' form, that is, if only one surname is recorded, it is the surname of the woman's
husband, & if two are recorded, the husband's surname is first, and the woman's maiden is second.
