Articles of Marriage, condescended, concluded
& agreed upon betwixt Margarett Watterson widdow
in the behalf of her son John Watterson senr: on
the one partye, & Daniell Juke & his wife Anne
in the behalfe of their daughter Elinor Kegg
on the other partye; all of K Christ Rushen
as followeth, December the 2d 1681:
Imprs: The foresaid JohnWatterson  & Elinor Kegg shall
enter into the holy estate of Matrimoney, be
fore candlemas next ensueing the date hereof
or immediately after, God & holy Church permitting
the same
2ly: Margarett Watterson widdow doth hereby deliver
all her land without exeception, unto her son
John Watterson senior, pvided that he doe
looke unto her as a mother, & if that they
doe not agree the said John is to give to his mother
yearely dureinge her naturall life halfe a firlett
of barley & halfe a firlett of mealecorne with
a house of 2 couples;
3ly: Daniell Juke & his wife gives in dowrey or
marriage goods, halfe an incalved cow & her
calfe after rearinge, 1 sheete 1 blankett & 1 when----
on course sheete 1 firlatt of malt or barley 1 mutton
further Ann Juke gives to her daughter & son in law
the halfe of her owne goods moveable & unmovable after
her decease; & Daniell Juke gives his halfe after
his decease both moveable & unmoveable
4ly: It is covenantud and agreed upon that i it please
God to call the foresaid Elinor without
issue, that then the said John Watterson husband
to the said Elinor shall build & John
Daniell Juke shall build a house of foure
couples for the use of the said Daniell & his
wife Ann: with two dayes plowinge of
lands for their use also, dureinge their lives
5ly: It is agreed upon futher that what huswifery,
(either lynnen or woollen), that all partyes shall
have to be done, that it shall be wrought equally
betwixt them & divided after yt it comes from the
weavers or cloathyers
Lastly: for the performance of all & singular the
premises all partyes hav bound themselves
