To the Worshipful Vicar General Corlett
                 The humble petition of
1855             Thomas Radcliffe of the
                 Parish of Andreas
Sheweth
    That some little time back to writing
this present month of January Petitioners brother
William Radcliffe of the Town of Ramsey
Grocer he departed this life intestate and
unmarried
  That it is necessary that administration
of the said Estate should forthwith take in
account to wind up the same and Petition
submits that Thomas Corkill at present agent
to the Ramsey Steam Packet Coy. Would be a fit 
and proper person to be sworn Administrator
of the same
           Whereupon Petn prays a hearing
           hereof and that your worship may
           be pleased to appoint and swear
           the said Thomas Corkill & some
           other fit and proper person to
           be Administrator of the said Estate
           and Pet will Pray

at a court to be holden at Ramsey this day
whereof all proper parties to have due notice

            At an Eccl Court held in Ramsey the 25th Jan'y
            1855
Upon having this Petition and it appearing that William Radcliffe
some short time ago departed this life intestate a bachelor
leaving his mother Anne Radcliffe, and his brothers and sister
the petitioners
Geo Radcliffe, Anne Radcliffe, Robert Radcliffe now abroad
and Dan'l Radcliffe also now abroad xxxx surviving his
only next of kin who are theupon Decreed to be administrators
of all and singular the Goods Right Credits Chattels
and effects of their Deceased and the next of kin on this
Island having requested the Courts to approve Thomas
Corkill to administer the Estate for their benefit he the
sd. Thomas Corkill is therfore sworn in trust well and truly
to administer the same according to law to pay all
just debts and funeral expenses of the dec'd so far
with as the Goods will extend and the law bind him
and to return the Epl Registry of the Diocese a [edge torn]
true and perfect inventory of the Estate with an
accurate account of his acts and proceedings in
the xxxxx where there unto lawfully required and to
Theto xxx he has given pledges namely Danl Goldsmith
and Thos Radcliffe who have executed the the usual
Bond in presence of the Court

Whereas the Ecclesiastical Court of this Diocese hath this day granted Administration of all and
Singular the goods and effects of William Radcliffe late of Ramsey
                      deceased to Thomas Corkill of the said town

And Whereas Daniel Goldsmith of the said town
in the parish of   and Thomas Radcliffe
of BallaRadcliffe in the Parish of Andreas have agreed
to become pledges to the said Thomas Corkill    for the due administration
of the said Estate according to law.
Therefore know all men by these Presents, that we, the said Daniel Goldsmith
                                            and Thomas Radcliffe bind and oblige
ourselves and our Executors and Administrators, as pledges to the said Thomas Corkill
                                              for the due and
and effects of the said deceased according to law. And in his  default we bind ourselves and our Executors
and Administrators to answerable to all parties interested in the said Estate, or the Administration thereof.

Mr Wm. Radcliffe deceased To be Sold by Auctioneerthis the 9th February 1855 and following days till the whole be disposed of

The highest bidder to be the purchaser and should any dispute
arise between bidders the lot to be put up again and be sold.

All lots when sold to be at the risk of the respective
purchasers and to be taken by them with all faults or errors of
description whatsoever.

Three month Credit will be given on purchases of
Two pounds and upwards on approved Joint Promissory
Notes being passed therefore to Mr Thomas Corkill Admor
